# Robynn Writer 0.1.8

September 22, 2026 · Apple Silicon · macOS 13.5 or later

## A simpler toolbar

Removed the repeated Robynn Writer label beside the Writer/Assistant switch.
The filename stays editable in the center, and the app name remains in the macOS
window title and menu.

## A clear first launch

A new profile opens a blank document with **Let your thoughts flow**, even if
the Writer folder already contains files. Existing documents remain available
through Open or Cmd + K. Returning users still reopen their last document, and
unsaved recovery journals remain the first priority.

## Sources work in the default folder

Fixed a native path mismatch that could show **sources unavailable** in frames
created in the default `~/Writer` folder. Attachments, guarded saves, Word
imports and local website saves now resolve that folder consistently.

## Upgrading from Writer

1. Quit the older app after your work has saved.
2. Open the downloaded DMG and drag **Robynn Writer.app** into Applications.
3. If **Writer.app** is also in Applications, move that older app to Trash or a
backup outside Applications. The renamed app does not replace it automatically.
4. Open **Robynn Writer** from Applications. Replace any old Writer Dock shortcut.

Your documents and `.writer` folders live outside the app; keep them. A saved
document reopening after an update is session restoration, not bundled sample
content. Use New document for a blank page.
